Kwaad said: Ok. Lets look at a picture of sony vs nintendo. PS1 launched. Similar to the x-box360. It was the underdog. It was the first next gen console out. The N64 came out 1 year later. The first 3 months of N64 ammounted to over 1million (US alone) the first 3 months of PS1... was about 300,000.
You forget one thing... N64 had nothing new to offer that PS1 had not... but now... PS3 has some things Wii doesn't and vice versa. And the world back in 1995-6 was completely different from now... people aren't that rich to buy a PS3, a HDTV, the HDMI cable, and some games... it costs as much as a low-cost car. N64 had nothing innovative... Wii has... and this is an important factor. (and don't forget that back in N64 era Nintendo had a limit on how many games a third-party could release and that's why N64 hadn't many 3rd party titles... keep all these things in mind and judge better next time... Wii is Wii, not N64 and PS3 is PS3, not PS1 or PS2.)
