I forgot about that game.  I completely agree with you too.

After completing the story mode for both the light side and dark side, I stopped playing land battles and only played space battle skirmishes.

Yeah we used to do the multiplayer versus campaign on the biggest map and just make an agreement not to have any land troops stationed on-planet so that once you controlled the space around a planet, you could take the planet itself with one unit.

The best thing about that game was how different, but balanced, the two factions were.  Empire had the Death Star, which was totally awesome, and Darth Vader was a fighting ace.  On the other hand, Admiral Akbar was a certified beast who could down multiple star destroyers solo.

I need to play that again.
