I actually called this a few months back.
Despite claims to the contrary, I don't think either the PS3 or 360 has the power to really crank out true 1080p graphics in a large-scale environment like GT.
Personally, I don't give a rat's ass. I think the game looks fabulous whether it is true 1080p or not, just like Halo looks great even though it's not true 720p.
