I agree that LBP is one of the best games ever and that it does eclipse SMW. However as I tire of people constantly comparing LBP to Mario(3d or 2d) I would like to compare it to Locco Rocco. The physics based platforming is very similar in both making the comparison far more apt.
I would wager that people who say LBP is floaty simply don't understand the physics and I seriously wonder if they did anything more than run straight through all the levels. The reason Sackboy has such a jump is because your momentum and landing angle matter greatly unlike the Mario games. They give you time to adjust these. Not to mention if you don't mash the button down every time you get different length jumps as it is analog. Using momentum to grab Bubbles that seem impossible is the funnest platforming experience I've ever had.
