You have a lot more leeway when moving around in cases like this than you do in most platformers, and floaty jumping is a result of this. Not to mention, slapping your friends around for hilarious deaths then mocking them with a giant grin on your face totally makes up for any shortcomings found in the jumping. |
I guess.
For me... a platformer starts with it's jumping. Since that's well... the very core aspect of a platformer.
