Floaty platformer was generally considered like... negative due to lazy programming.

I'm surprised so many people are willing to overlook it.

1. Why do you type like that? Not to be rude, it's just something I've always wondered.

2. The floaty physics aren't that bad. They can result in some cheap deaths, but they're overall not that big of a difference. Just learn to time your jumps.
