So if they say reatailers are buying the systems as fast as we make them so we need to make them faster because we need to get ready for the Europe and austrailia launch. I think what was being said is they are not Warehousing PS3's and have them ready for oders they are still making them fo orders. I have yet to see 20-30 PS3's anywhere? Hell Costco just got bundles in due to supply constraint. I bought my PS3 in febuary and it was the last one at my Best Buy, as i set it down to look at the game i was going to buy another guy was eyeing mine up while asking a sales acosiate if there were any more. I am not saying I have not seen 5 or 6 on a shelf but its not like its not selling and retailers are repleneshing stock.

I do agree that Sony would like them to be sold out everywhere, and that there are more than they would like to see on shelves. What would you have them say though? We are not selling as many as we want to.? I would think that would apear in every anti sony post there is. In buisness i think you do need some degree of spin. I would go so far as calling it a lie though. Its not like Sony has all these PS3's made that they don't know what to do with. Stores are not putting PS3s on clearance so It will all be ok .

To ansewer your Question "Why does Sony have to lie?" Because,if they didn't they would be the only company that didn't. Or they probly would be bancrupt by now...Honestly you think there are major companies out there that do not "lie"?

Ahh, corporate spin and rank fanboy-ism in the same thread, I'll really need a shower after reading this.  No you don't usually see 30 PS3's sitting out because they dont have space in their video game sections for 30 of those hulking things.  It's also not terribly theft proof and stores like you to think there's only a few left, better buy one now.  Usually they have 5 or 6 out from and the rest in the back.  The way to tell is if you see their PS3 cabinet filled with PS3's you can be pretty sure more are sitting in the back.  Thus far the only Wii's I've seen were the one I bought as it was being unloaded from its shipping box and the one lonesome Wii at a Wal-Mart (which means it was unlikely they had more).  Most stores I've been to have the 5 or 6 PS3's they can fit in the cabinet available.

As for Sony's lies, everyone lies yes but what gets people about Sony is they border on being pathological liars.  Right up until the day they announce something they will say with a straight face it isn't happening even if it's been leaked or everyone knows it (like 20GB not being killed off, $600 price tag, PS2 and its 75 million plys per sec, 8 core 3.5GHz Cell, toy story like graphics, thats actual PS3 hardware not dev computers at E3 06 [may have been another game event], etc).   They also don't know the art of denial, no reason to promise a less than $500 system when you know it's really $600, just don't say anything, no need to keep insisting you will produce the 20GB PS3 when you know you aren't, just don't say anything and stop shipping them, and so on.

Another thing that annoys some is how quickly Sony fanboys simply accept their new truth from Sony.  I recall reading IGN's PS3 section before E3 06 when Sony Europe boss said the system was $600, IGN PS3 was duly shocked because Sony had always said it would be under $500.  Tthen Sony came out and said no he was misquoted its not $600 and the IGN PS3 section rejoiced. Then Sony announced the $600 price a few days later and IGN PS3 always knew it was going to $600, it's a technical marvel after all. It's like 1984, "We are at war with Eurasia, we have always been at war with Eurasia".
