I also wouldn't mind them putting that on the PSN.  Even though I have the original still I'd like to play it without the load times I'm sure the original would still have on the PS3.

Huh.  Had I known that i wouldn't of bought a single Game Boy Advance game.

To the best of my knowledge, Twesterm is wrong here - owning a back-up is not illegal, though distributing it is.
