DQ 9 will outesell them both.

It should outsell DQX, but it certainly will not outsell Final Fantasy XIII. Final Fantasy will be the highest selling JRPG this generation. FFXIV is a MMO and Versus is an exclusive. Both equal lower sales.

Best selling JRPG that isn't pokemon. I say DQIX has a chance though. But it is unlikely.

How is Pokemon a JRPG in any way, shape or form? It's about as much a JRPG as The Legend of Zelda.

This is the funniest thing I've read in a while. Please go ahead and explain to me how it is NOT an JRPG?

Here are some reasons why it is a JRPG:

Stats/Level System for a Party.

Turn Based battles that use a strategy such as items, and status effects.

Store system almost identical to that found in other Jrpgs. You buy a set number of items and upgrades, you can sell items and upgrades at a cheaper price than what you buy them for.

Slight Adventuring aspects. Most RPGs have them, even Jrpgs. Jrpgs mostly only have slight adventuring and nothing too exciting. Pokemon can be described as such.

Oh and btw, I am doubting your Legend of Zelda comparison. To be honest some games in the Zelda series, such as Zelda II can be labeled as Jrpgs. So here I ask, if pokemon isn't a Jrpg what is it? Almost everybody who has played a pokemon game and those who haven't know it is a Jrpg.

Pokemon is a turn based RPG.  WHy is their even a question about this?  It is essentially a single player MMORPG with the option for multiplayer battling and trading after you complete the main game.

The easiest way to tell its an RPG is that it took a lot of ideas and insperation from other RPG series, including Dragon Quest.

Can Dragon Quest X sell over 10 million copies? I doubt it.

My impression is that DQ games hardly sells anything in the West, perhaps a million or so.

FFXIII isn't going to sell that much either.
