I had a completely different experience to you, although I too hated the Kai levels, and that is stopping me from the starting the game all over again to do it in hell mode
I found it running perfectly, at all times in the game. The graphics are breathtaking and the cut scenes were even more impressive than the Lord of the Rings (I watched them both in the same week, on the same TV from my PS3). It was button mashing, but I generally found that I had more success by primarily using counters, and occasionally taking enemies on. Against Bohan, I found that I was forced into using block breaker combos constantly. The whole game had a good feel, and I felt it was challenging, but not impossible and I though that the last levels were some of the best I had ever played.
The story is excellent thanks to the brilliant cut scenes and the whole feel of the game. The only thing that was missing was Bohan declaring that he was Nariko's father.
I really enjoyed the whole experience and hope that they make another one soon, although the game was short, I enjoyed nearly all of it
