I've put a rule in place because I have seen a lot of games go to $69.99 in Canada since last holiday season.

I will only buy a game at $60 or more if it rates above 90% on Metacritic.

I wait for games to drop to $45 - 60 if it rates above 80%.

I wait for games to drop to $20 - 45 if it rates above 70%.

I wait for $0-20 for all others.

I don't care who makes the game. If it is worth it I will pay for it. If not, then I will wait until it fits to a price I am willing to pay.

I agree that game creation has become more expensive in the HD console world and therefore that cost should be transferred to the consumers in some way so they maintain their profits that are expected by shareholders (and if you invest in retirement saving plans, you may be a shareholder too).
