Activision is pushing the limits of gaming economics, the only issue making it different is that they're admitting it to the world. I would imagine that their attitudes reflect the simple dollars-and-sense mentalities of other companies, who are just less willing to be so forthright about it
Basically, the only emergency here is Kotick's attitude. Otherwise it's just business as usual.
Okay, i watched the video, and this guy's arguments are whack.
1. The model that Epic games proposed has never been tested
2. The model that Criterion used costs more money to the developer
3. He said that this was serious business, and he was someone who didn't need to go out and get a life. I laughed at this
4. He claimed this could lead to the 2nd gaming crash. Impossible. The publishers could easily, easily correct this error before it got out of hand. Activision could easily drop the price of Modern Warfare 2 before too long.
5. Internet boycotts are like internet petitions, they don't work.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
