Edit: To be more product: A lot of people doubted the slim, me included, when we first saw the Chinese photos of the slims. Even the video tape in that Central/South American country didn't convince me. It's only until the flood of news of individual retailiers cutting the price of the PS3 did I B_E_L_I_E_VE in the slim.
