You are right then, but then Zelda Wii would have had more than 5 years before release considering that Zelda TP was mostly done before it's release date. This time around they really were slow with the production, and it all seems slower when too few titles worth playing are getting released. By next year it will be all good, but the constant and long SW droughts really make these 5 - 6 year development cycles seem terrible.

I don't think Nintendo is being at all slow, seeing as how they're trying to totally reinvent Zelda.  In fact, this is probably going to be their flagship title for the Wii, much like Ocarina of Time was for the N64 (and Twilight Princess was going to be for GC, until it was pushed back so much, they pushed it to a joint release for Wii).

But I would despute the view that there are too few titles coming out, especially from Nintendo themselves.  Nintendo has been releasing more (and better) games in the first half of this gen than the entire gamecube/game boy advance run combined.  And while GC did have a few amazing games, it was just that, a few.  Wii in just its first year had pretty much done what the GameCube did in 3-4 years.
