I just messin XEN, i wouldn't do that to you....but i tellin you guys this will be a genre evolving game

I don't want to look like I'm doubting that it'll be good, but genre evolving how? JRPG's haven't changed much since the SNES sweet times... the only difference is that the quality dropped...

Are you kidding here Xen? JRPGs haven't changed since the SNES? What are you talking about?

And there are many who hold the belief that SNES was not the golden age for RPGs.

Cliche stories and characters? check.

Grinding? check.

Mini games? check.

Battle system linked by common rules established way back when? check.

there are exceptions... but... very few.

Also, lots of people hold the SNES as the best console for JRPG's to this day. See the forums. I'm not included though.

Besides Persona and Disgaea, what games do you grind for anymore? Outside of Demon's Souls, I can't think of one!

I know you hate the game, but Final Fantasy XII did major innovations in the battle system. And there are few exceptions because the fanbase doesn't want their games to change. It's why people still buy remakes more than new original titles.

You can't blame developers for not innovating much, whenever its the same old that sells more.

Japanese gamers are at fault for this.  They tend to hate innovation in their RPGs.  Look at how much critizism FFXII got from Japanese gamers.  This is why Japanese developers are looking more towards the West, becuase Western gamers are more open towards new IPs and innovation.
