That's great, but I still haven't seen an example of having a better experience because of it yet. I'm not saying that improved functionality doesn't exist (as far as movement speed is concerned) but just like your Goldeneye example, I don't think it's really proven to be something that's worth having on the PC yet. Regardless of how important on/off movement is vs speed by tilting a stick, you're sacraficing input in console shooters for that ability. To get to the face buttons, you have to remove your thumb from the stick so you can perform the action as well as a limit of how many buttons you'll have available for inputs (even if your mouse has a few extra buttons) depending on the game of course.
The Wii is certainly helping people simplify things on the console front with the Nunchuck+Wiimote though.
On another note, I'd like to try the PS3 FragFX to use a mouse instead of an analog stick, but it costs too much. I tried the PS2 version in Bad Company, but it was a steaming pile of crap.
