There is no issue here.
Remember what the XBox is. It's a counter-disruption to the playstation. It's primary existence is to protect the PC platform by making PC to games console development more appealing to developers, which helps keep developers working with Microsoft overall. Profit is secondary.
Then remember what Natal is. It's a counter disruption to the Nintendo Wii (protecting the XBox, and the PC indirectly).
From this perspective, you can see why it's important that anything that happens for the XBox, has to happen for the PC too. Keeping the platforms as close as possible is in the interest of developers, thus in the interest of Microsoft.
