They feel need to more opennly combat 360 and Live in US I'd surmise, and want to make clear they have a competiting service.
I guess the also feel the highlighting of PSN isn't needed in Europe. Personally, if I was them I'd use it consistently everywhere, and look to have better parity between their offering - such as getting different versions of Home more in sync.
I think they would present a more consistent, stronger brand message if they did so.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
