If you have shop put this together for you, you probably will have to buy the components from them rather than shop around for the best deals on individual parts (or buy from NewEgg which many system builders do).

Also, if you buy from a good shop with competitive component prices (should have everything listed in an up to date shop catalog), the guy who helps you out will probably be willing to teach you whatever you need to know. It's more or less how I learned how to build systems myself.

Most shouldn't charge more than $50-100 to put it together and make it post successfully. Some will do it for free if you buy everything from them. The OC on your CPU will probably be up to you though so start reading up on that if you want the most out of your CPU. If the shop's really cool, the tech may actually help you overclock your system as well.

Cool thanks for the advice. What place did you go to?

It won't help you. I flew to Toronto to do some graphical work for a game developer and literally had to build the system I used from parts purchased locally. I think they went out of business in the wake of the Fall market crash.

If there's a decent sized university near you, it's likely you'll find some computer parts vendors in the area who also specialize in custom built PCs.

Yeah, i think i'm basically in a University City lol. I don't even know but we have a University here, but i don't really consider it that because usually there are a lot of places to hang out and stuff but there are only a few bars here. But they are popular lol.

There is this one place but i always hated their advertisments because they made everyone sound like they were idiots and knew nothing about computers. I may not know much as some but i do know enough, probably more than the avarage person. Because i know how to clean my computer. Programs i need to keep it in working order but for some reason my PC's always mess up on me. This is the first time i have had one for more than 2 years. I have taken better care of it. This time when it messed up is was my RAM i think that went out on me and started messing it up. Ever since then it just hasn't been the same lol my poor PC.
