The original Crimson Skies and MechWarrior 3 were both made by Zipper Interactive, which is now a part of SCEA.
I believe Zipper and this Smith & Tinker house are both in the Seattle area, as well. Some very interesting correlations going on here. Maybe some part of Zipper formed it? Otherwise perhaps its ex-MS games division employees?
I hope they do better than MS did internally with MW4. The worst iteration of MW by far. I ran out to buy it right after reading all the glowing reviews. God... it was awful. The Mechs were made of paper, and hopped, skipped, and jumped around the level like crickets, not giant robots.
