| reverie said: My company also raised its prices in the UK. Back in 2006 we used to convert 1 to 1.4 from Euro to Pound. Then we had to go up to 1 to 1.25 in 2008. Now we're at 1 : 1 parity between the Euro and the Pound. It's not fun for our British customers, but what can we do? If they don't like it, they should join the Euro, or just suck it up. By the way: If you convert from Pound to Dollars you have to take out the VAT. £35 are $51, not $58. http://calculator.contractoruk.com/vat-calc.php |
The problem for Britain is that if they joined the Euro now, all their prices would probably go up, resulting in instant pain among all consumers. There are probably tons of business segments which are still selling based on the old exchange rates.
