This holiday season will be fairly brutal to the PS3 ... The Wii and XBox 360 will (probably) sell at least twice as many units in North America and Europe as the PS3, and the Wii will sell at least three times as many units in Japan. The result of these slow sales is that multiplatform games will sell dramatically worse on the PS3 in North America and Europe, and game sales in Japan are going to be very unimpressive. Early in 2008, many third party publishers will be in a position where they will have to announce their lower revenues (and potentially losses) at the end of the fiscal year (March 31st). They know that their shareholders will be unhappy, and they know they will be forced to answer the question "Why are you so heavily supporting platforms which are selling so poorly?" ... Most CEOs are not known for their bravery, and will announce Wii support as fast as they can in fear of losing their job and their massive bonus. |
You are on Nintendos or MS pay roll right, even fanboys aren't that delusional. The saying "how can a man understrand if his salery depands on him not understanding" fits perfectly with you. 360 sale atleast twice as many in Europe as PS3 i hope for your sake you are getting payed to post such utter bs. Do you really believe the stuff you post ? |
The best answer to this comment is to not comment at all. Take the wait-and-see approach. Happy is smart and knows what he's talking about. He could be right, and I think he might be. |
Smart or not he clearly lacks the ability to post something with out his bias getting a best of him. Look at the sales, who in their right mind would say 360 will do double the PS3s sales in Europe. http://vgchartz.com/eweekly.php |
Nice of you to do the honest thing and post a week where the PS3 had a price drop ...
The PS3 was released to a lot of fan-fare in "The Other" regions and sold 1 Million units amazingly quickly, and then sales dropped of; since that point in time the PS3 has only managed to sell 700,000 units. In the same timeframe the XBox 360 has sold 930,000 units. Sony has the weaker line-up and lacks the momentium to outperform their competition and are (likely) going to lose more ground. Saying that the XBox 360 would sell twice as many systems may have been overdramatic, but it will sell many more systems.
