This holiday season will be fairly brutal to the PS3 ...

The Wii and XBox 360 will (probably) sell at least twice as many units in North America and Europe as the PS3, and the Wii will sell at least three times as many units in Japan. The result of these slow sales is that multiplatform games will sell dramatically worse on the PS3 in North America and Europe, and game sales in Japan are going to be very unimpressive.

Early in 2008, many third party publishers will be in a position where they will have to announce their lower revenues (and potentially losses) at the end of the fiscal year (March 31st). They know that their shareholders will be unhappy, and they know they will be forced to answer the question "Why are you so heavily supporting platforms which are selling so poorly?" ... Most CEOs are not known for their bravery, and will announce Wii support as fast as they can in fear of losing their job and their massive bonus.
