Gotta love the answers here. So informed.

Basically, these acts are cross-marketed towards children and teenagers, and the music is made to appeal to their age groups. Believe it or not, whether these acts exist or not, children are not going to listen to the same indy rock scene the majority of you listen to. That doesn't make them stupid either. They're just young. My three year old listens to "The Wheels On The Bus Go Round and Round". She doesn't care for Arctic Monkeys. Go figure. It doesn't make her stupid, it doesn't mean she has no taste, she's not an idiot, she just happens to listen to music created to appeal to her age group. Now she's getting into Miranda Cosgrove a bit through iCarly. This is the way you get children interested. Maybe Radiohead should put a sticom out on Nickelodeon.

Children arent their only fans, Im 18 and have friends that like them too.

I said "...children and teenagers...". Regardless that doesn't mean someone outside the age bracket can't listen to them. Somehow the Jonas Brothers managed a 4 star review for their last album in Rolling Stone, and was actually pretty well received overall. It's not my type of music, but I'm not going to start judging people because their taste in music is much different than mine. I think the problem here is this music snobbery I see going on in the topic that people that don't listen to them are inherently more qualified to breathe oxygen.

Its turning in a casual/hardcore type of conversation.

I would respect them more if they actually played their music live and didnt have a band playing behind and all they do is jump with their guitars and sing their easy to sing songs.

Anyway I dont hate them, the thing that pisses me off its their fans(the kind off people we would call fanboys here).

So I dont respect them at all as musicians and their fans annoy me.

Also, I dont read  rolling stone, so I dont know how they are on reviews or if they made it comparing to what others would call  great music or by their own jonas brother standard.
