To be honest I think this thread comes from a neutral source and it is a legitimate airing of corporate misdeeds that have cost consumers. I don't think the source material can be equated to the sort of diatribes that get posted from time to time about all of the consoles.
I can't speak for the motive of the one who posted it here. Though I think something like this should have made it's way into a VGC news article rather than a thread. Shafting consumers is always of concern to everyone, it reminds us that corporations are not out to look after us and puts us in guard to look out for it in other situations.
It's only when you hold corporations to account and not let them get away with shaftiong the consumer that they mend their ways. This time it was Microsoft caught with their pants down (or their hand in the cookie jar if you want to be more G rated). All corporations need to feel the wrath of the consumer from time to time. It was Microsoft's turn this time to be the subject of this salutory consumer lesson.
Poor form Microsoft. Fix it up, learn your lesson and lets all move on.
