I think that looking for realism in games is counterintuitive to a point, however if a game specifically advertises and banks on realism as a defining factor in its game then I would rightfully expect such.
However, making an assumption that it would/should be realistic can easily lead to problems down the road.
I do not think you're wrong in wanting more realism in certain games, but you should remember that it is only your opinion. There are people who like vast amounts of blood and gore as well as people who do not.
