Yeah, except use the entire earth as a life-support/life-absorption machine to turn into basically a god.

Which um... he failed at.

Even normal Sephiroth would have just chopped Ganondorf in half.

With Sephiroth's win/lose track record, he has better odds of choking on his tongue in the final moments than winning regardless of who he's fighting whether it be Cloud, Link, or Ganondorf.

As I said, SEEN Ganondorf do anything cool. All he did in OoT was wait until Link was in stasis and then took over Hyrule Castle (from wussies) and then just kind of emitted evil, then he waited for Link to come kill him. Which was easy. Twilight Princess, same deal. He sits around and waits for Link to show up and kill him.

What is he supposed to do?  Go hunt down a kid with a tiny sword?  He has giant monsters of doom to do that for him.  It's not his fault that some innocuous little kid turns out of be the hero of time and is also sporting the powerful Triforce of Courage.

Besides, Ganondorf got the Triforce of Power... not Wisdom.  ^_^

At least 4 of the bosses in FF7 were Sephiroth controlling chunks of Jenova telepathically, he butchered the entire contents of the Shinra building, impaled a 500 foot cobra on a tree, tainted and controlled the lifestream, and tried to crash the entire planet into a another one. Also easily killed 1st class soldier Zack effortlessly. Oh yeah. And he has so far died like 3 times and come back. None of the other Ganons have managed to come back from anything.

So... he beat up a centuries old creature and took its power.  Ganondorf took the power of the gods.  Win for Ganon.

He butchered a building's worth of people.  Ganondorf took over an entire world (dark world).

Controlled a massively powerful energy. Triforce of Power.

Crash a planet into one another?  No deal, Ganondorf wants to rule the world not destroy it.  He's evil but not insane.

Slaughter a single guy?  Yeah, I think Ganondorf has done that.

Die and come back?  Ganon has more games than Sephiroth probably ever will, so I think we got that covered too.

Also, speaking of failure, not only does Ganondorf ALWAYS fail, he usually fails as a giant pig, and in OoT, he lost as a giant pig to a mute 7 year old in a 16 year old's body that learned how to use a sword like a week beforehand. And in Twilight Princess he lost to a mute goat herder.

A kid with the Triforce of Courage destined to become the Hero of Time/Hero of Hyrule who can master anything and everything he touches instantly is a tad more threatening than you realize.

And Ganondorf at least ruled the world in a couple games.  Sephiroth's biggest claim to fame was trying to destroy the planet and he couldn't even get that right.  When Sephiroth's evil heart can decimate an entire world the way Ganondorf did in Link to the Past, let me know.
