Is it harder to program facial expression and animation & skin texture than vehicles? I always though that giving 'best graphic' award to car game feels a bit cheap since they do not emulate organic materials at all.
That said, the most visually impressive game I've seen this gen is The Last Guardian, not because of any technical achievement (even though they are plentiful) but by the absolute magnificent and scope of the title's beast, it truly looked and felt alive, which is something I've never been able to decieve myself into believing with any other game, not even with something as convincing as the eye pet.
