the high cost is only in the initial stages as the learning curve is high, so programmers need to figure out things, and of course time = money...but once developers have come to gripes on how it works and how best to program it then the cost are low, especially if they've already built an engine....most of the cost actually comes from art assets....this is the most time consuming and were a majority of staff are employed in.
