Uncharted was designed from the ground up for the PS3 architecture, so this shouldn't be terribly surprising. Naughty Dog has already proven themselves as one of the top developers with the strongest grasp of the architecture.
I'll still do the optional install if one's available, assuming it reduces load times and texture pop ins.
