You really have to like a specific game a LOT before you get into mods.

That's one thing I've noticed about heavy PC gaming fans; they often play the same game for the better part of ten years (not exclusively obviously).

But there are a lot of people who like tooling around with in-game resources for the amusement factor, and in some instances (many of the HL-2 mods) players/artists/coders can actually improve the game by giving the textures and even lighting effects updates(Crysis).

Of course not every gamer is into that. Overall it's a pretty small niche within PC gaming. But if that's your thing, naturally you'll think PC gaming is where its at.

Well, i was never into PC gaming until Oblivion. I needed a PC and Oblivion at the time was only on 360 and PC. So i skipped the 360 and got a PC then i realized what a better choice i made because of the mods. (And cheat codes lol) I only use cheat codes to have fun with after i beat a game normally. But i didn't get into mods until i basically finished the game. I was looking around and found them. I always wanted my character to have long hair. Then it just blew up after that and i couldn't stop getting mods. I wen to clothing and then nude characters lol. Oblivion started it all.
