Sounds like Sony is ramping up for 4th quarter sales... it takes time to get the units onto store shelves after they're built.

As far as the time division synchronizers are concerned, either there are many of them in each PS3, or that component is used in many other devices. 4 million PS3s made/sold per month just isn't a realistic possibility, even if they drop the price to $299.
