You never know what can happen. In 2006, the PS3 looked like it would dominate in 2007 with an unbeatable lineup.
But a lot of things can happen in the space of a year. Games get delayed, shifted, canceled. Many new games are announced during the course of the year. Some highly anticipated games flop. Other unknown games become smash hits.
I can't remember who said this and I'm not saying it as well...but this is the best I can say it:
Future games are always better than the current ones, because the imagination can create better games than could ever exist.
