I can't understand why SCEA would produce and sell a slim considering the bulk of the current PS3. They are still losing money and by cramming it into a smaller enclosure, I don't see how they can drastically change the price model for the current system. Why change production when the original model isn't making a profit per each unit sold? I'd like to see a PS3 slim but I just don't see it happening anytime soon. They need to be able to turn a profit with this current product first before exploring a different product line. I'd be happy to replace my PS2 slim with a new PS3 slim but I just don't see it happening with in the next year at all. And I would imagine if it did come sooner that it would cost the same or more than the current product. Anyone know how long it was after the original PS2 before the SLIM came out for that product? Just curious.
