The developer already told us: Alan Wake is NOT a Horror game, it's an action game.

I thought it was mostly an horror story driven experience

so if it action packed, then it is better and make more sense

I thought the same thing. I was hoping for a horror game , but Alan Wake seems excellent, I can't wait for this game.
