You just don't get it. Nintendo right now is a software developer who has its own console so that gives them TOTAL FREEDOM to make whatever software they want and adjust their hardware accordingly.
The only problem when you are a hardware manufacturer is that you have to make your consoles sell. AS LONG AS you hardware sells then, no doubt your bussiness is much more profitable.
Look at the charts, Nintendo right now owns both the hardware & software top ten.
