No. They say homosexuality is a sin, and you can not follow the religion and be homosexual at the same time. They don't literally say "go out and pester and murder homosexuals." The messages of hate are perceived by the people following the religion, and many people choose not to act on them. By the way, you're not analyzing my points. You're just cherrypicking a couple and saying, "Ah hah, I found a flaw in his argument because I didn't read anything else!" I believe that they gain credibility as being a long standing part of society, so long as they don't preach hate for other people. And many of them don't. We have no proof that God exists, Moses exists, nor Jesus, or any other religious figure. But we do have proof that there are millions, if not billions of people who believe in these things. What proof do we have for a religion that believes in fairies and dragons? NONE AT ALL. Man I feel like I'm forced to run in circles for you. You are just so unable to understand something so simple, it's absolutely amazing. There's no major religion for the thing you described, so it's not going to have its beliefs protected. You also don't see Satanist rights protected. Again, it's a matter of numbers. And I don't think Atheists are stupid, because I am one myself. You just think that I can't defend religion without being some religious nut. You ignore my points over and over. It's like arguing with a wall, and I'm frankly getting sick of it. It's no wonder you get owned in pretty much any argument you get into on these forums. Bah. |
im not ignoring your points, im pointing out there flaws and what i disagree with, i kinda thought that was the point of a debate, but hey, you keep posting insulting stuff there too, but im trying to ignore that part, as i dont want this to descend into petty bickering.
as i said, faries and dragons are an example, but you wont accept that.
isnt that the problem though, how can we give them extra rights and protections if theyre beliefs can be used to incite hatred? would you allow racism? no, but for some reason, the concept of religion is ok, and deserves to get nice things like there own schools and laws.
lots of people believing in something, dosent make it any more real or worthwhile, till about 100 years ago, people believed in the concept of slavery, its only because people stood up and said, this concept is wrong and has problems with it, that we got rid of it.
im not even going that far, im saying they dont deserve preferential treatment, im not stopping them believing, not at all, im saying, believe whatever you like, just remember that you dont get anymore rights than me for doing so, nor do you have any more right to complain about being made fun of for them, than someone who believes in something else we cant prove exists.
