When I first got my PS3 two years ago I tried out Ubuntu and Yellow Dog and found both atrocious on the PS3. I appreciate that Sony allows us to put a tertiary OS on the PS3 but with all the hardware restrictions and limitations it runs terribly slow and really isn't worth the effort. You don't have access to any of the immense power of the PS3 and it's such a shame. The Linux community could do wonders with such hardware.
Granted, I haven't tried it in 2 years and Linux distros have advanced immensely in that time so I think I'll try again soon. However I haven't heard or read of any new support or lesser hardware restrictions being made by Sony so my hopes aren't up for it being that much better.
