And there was nothing wrong with Twin Snakes except for its lowered difficulty. The cutscenes were more in keeping with the ridiculousness of the rest of the series (and the change was Kojima's idea anyway) and the dialogue change was the same - which is good, because the dialogue from the original game bordered on insufferable.

Anyway, yeah. Silicon Knights has a lot of talent - I just hope they can focus well enough to make something really spectacular again.

Don't people generally consider MGS1 to be the best when it comes to dialogue.  

Otacon: Have you ever... loved someone?

Solid Snake: What are you trying to say?
Otacon: I want to ask you. Do you think love can bloom even on a battlefield?
Solid Snake: Yeah. I do. I think at any time, any place, people can fall in love with each other. But if you love someone, you have to be able to protect them.

Kinda cheesy.

MGS2 did worse than that.  Remember how Colonel and Rose went all crazy after Otacon's sister Emma enter the data to mess up the AI in the simulation.  It's kind of hard to tell between good and bad writing unless the writing is so bad that even an idiot knows its bad.
