1. i dont know, but the popularity of the xenophobic parties is going up, and elements of the media are borderline xenophobic.
2. that would be the war, and its not against the entire nation, atleast not on any respectable media outlet, its against the action there government took in the war, i.e. possible war crimes, eccessive use of military force, etc. (not neccessairly my view, but thats what i got from the media ive seen/heard)
