If it ruins it for the people without any self control though, then the game is no longer for everyone, is it? You could say Nintendo is instead catering to one demographic to the detriment of another.

Really though, people without self control will find other ways to cheat or wouldn't be able to finish hard games anyway, so they are not actually discluding these people - in fact, they are including people who have no self control but don't care about actually "beating" a game.
