You must dislike near every JRPG out there. I'd stay away from Tales games in general if you thought Vesperia was anything near standard.
OT: Tales of vesperia. So far, and by far, the best JRPG this gen. Lost Odyssey is the only competition in its league though, so look that up too.
GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.
