I STRONGLY disagree, respectfully of course. As much as I don't want it, digital downloads are the future (i like looking at my games collection on my shelf). This gen, with the success of steam, xbl, and psn, we are seeing the seeds being planted. There is nothing publishers want more than to cut out the retailer. Don't be surprised when madden becomes subscription based in a couple years. |
Retailers sell the platforms to play the games. I am curious how platforms to play games will get sold, if the retailers aren't able to sell games. Whatever the answer is, the console makers are going to have to step in and provide it. Apple, with the iPOD, is showing one way.
