Why, exactly why would EA fighting the used games market be a good thing?

Gamestop doesn't have good used games prices, but still companies wanting people to not sell games that they found dissapointing is disgusting.

By offering things people want, that undermine used sales, it isn't that bad of a thing.  It isn't like their games will stop working offline.  A problem with EA, in regards to Madden, isn't that they come out with a new version of the game, and have people have to buy it to play online.  The problem is that they happened to lock out all competition, by having the only football games on the market with licensed players and teams.  The problem here is you have no other place to go, if they drop the ball on a new version.

Also, the support is not free for EA to provide.  Same with doing updates.  Their mission is to try to get as much money as they can, while consumers try to get the most stuff for least amount of money.
