Halo 3 will reach 10 million. No question about that. My question is: Will any future Halo game ever reach 10 million?

I say NO.

1. Halo:CE and Halo 2 didnt get close to 10 million. My theory is that alot of former Ps2 owners who never played the previous Halo games bought Halo3 out of curiousity to see what the hype was about. That wont happen with future Halo games.

2. Halo is being milked and cheapened. Halo Anime, Halo Wars, Halo ODST, etc. It has lost some of it's prestigue as a top level game and has almost become somewhat of a joke to some people.

3. Call of Duty has surpassed it as the most popular FPS. FPS has quickly gone from "Popular on PC's, but not on consoles" to now being the most oversaturated genre on consoles. The market is alot different than when Halo first made a name for itself. It's still living off the name it made many years ago. Only a matter of time before that fades and Halo is "just another FPS"

4. Natural decline in sales. People lose interest in games as they get older. The people who bought Halo:CE when they were 16... how old would they be when Halo 4 comes out? Alot of those people wouldve stopped playing games completely. Happens with almost every series.

5. Halo 4 probably won't be made by Bungie. Look at what happened when Naughty Dog stopped making Crash Bandicoot games. The quality declined and the series quickly took a nose dive. Same thing could happen with Halo if Bungie decides to try something new.
