TBH if they really stick with the no controller angle then I see Natal limited from a gameplay perspective.
If you allow props then things open up a lot more, although that raises the question do you use stuff you have or buy stuff specially?
I see it working very well as an interface and it could be very sweet augmenting the normal controller - I do like the idea of leaning, etc. in FPS and similar titles.
It could also work well for adventure titles (in the old fashioned sense of something like Myst) as well I believe. I'd rather see 'Milo' move in that direction, where you explore, solve puzzles, etc.
Driving IMO would be stupid without props. Sitting holding an imaginary steering wheel is clearly inferior to holding an actual wheel so you'd be using Natal for the sake of it, not because it's actually better.
For me, that's the crux of it, even with Wii it's clear that motion control doesn't work for everything, and that's with a controller. Without a controller I believe the horizons narrow down a lot.
Of course they may have ideas for different approaches that will work. But I'm not using a forced motion control for the sake of it - if it works better then its an improvement, if not then its a gimmick.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
