I think AC2 may well be a much better product. AC was a great engine and concept where they clearly ran out of development money/time and shoved it out the door with practically no developed gameplay to speak of.
However, given the engine is there (hopefully tuned a bit for better loading and less tearing) and assuming lessons have been learnt from the consistent complaints of weak gameplay and content, if AC2 is suitably fleshed out and 'finished' it could make good on the promise of the concept.
I won't be buying day one though. I'l be watching reviews and the net to gague how much they've improved it first.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
