Well, you have to factor in the price. Plus, that will eventually suffer from phosphor trailing.

Seriously, though, if I'm going plasma, I'm going Veria. Excellent price, almost as good as the Kuro, and is the future of Plasma TV is such a future exists.

That said, yes, for picture quality, so far, it's hard to beat the Kuro, if you don't consider anything but picture quality. However, none of us can buy one anymore, even if we had the money. It's like trying to buy Superman number 1.

Within a year, it will be surpassed by Panny, and there aren't any more Plasma's coming out from Pioneer.

It's all our loss really, but a fact we should all face.

You say that but compared to this Panasonic Plasma, Pioneer seems like a bargain.

Isn't panasonic the only one left making plasma technology. I mean, the Pioneer and Samsung plasmas are using PAnasonic screens no?

I'm talking about the 50' Verias. Excuse me. They approach the Kuro, and only set you back about 1300. I don't know what kind of monstrosity that Panny is that you linked, but I want it.

I think that panny is the PS3 of TVs. :)

As in includes some really expensive component and can't be sold for less in this economy.

This just made me love my Panasonic Viera 50" even more. We got ours for 1300$ also, and it blows EVERY LCD I've seen out of the water with it's color. It's funny reading all the hype LCD gets at 'being the best', but this TV is just so much better. We even checked out the LED LCDs , still way to bright and the blacks and darker colors look horrid, even on the Sony.
