They did sign Roloson, but I assumed it was insurance in case Dipietro was injured and couldn't start the season, or got injured early in the season. With them signing Biron though, to me it looks like they don't think that Dipietro will be back any time soon.

I don't think he's the odd one out though - in my opinion Biron is a "just in case" kinda guy, for this season only. He can play 35 games or so (assuming Dipietro is really out), to make sure Roloson isn't overworked like he was in Edmonton. If Rick's career is over, then they can go after someone else next season, while Roloson becomes the backup or the Islanders can have him finish out his contract as the starter and go in another direction after that season.
