Lighting has better uniformity on the elite kuro but the xbr8 has better colors and the kuro has a little better local dimming. mainly the sony's bang for the buck kind of sucks and with film wasn't the best it is bar far the best lcd and they only give the edge to the kuro on a couple of things and they said the reason why the kbr8 lost was becasue they say when you at an angle you loose quality in my room im in a 11 by 13 im always right on. Sorry if i am a little biasis i love sony tv's i think it is easier to get the samsung led to get true skin tone i had to mess around for a few days and quite awhile with the sony becasue i didn't want to pay some guy from best buy 300 to do it.
